      Huffman Engineering, Inc. (HEI) is a fast-paced, dynamic and innovative company dedicated to Making Ideas Work. We are looking for an Internal Process Operations Manager to oversee internal processes and workflows across all HEI locations to ensure efficient and seamless operations in Production, Procurement, Service, Safety, and Facilities. The Internal Process Operations Manager collaborates closely with External Operations stakeholders to ensure client projects are delivered defect-free, on time, and on budget. The primary focus of this role is to optimize day-to-day processes and remove roadblocks in support of company strategic objectives.

      How we work

      Internal Process Operations Manager

      Internal Process Operations Manager must be able to oversee internal processes and workflows across all HEI locations to ensure efficient and seamless operations in Production, Procurement, Service, Safety, and Facilities. The Internal Process Operations Manager collaborates closely with External Operations stakeholders to ensure client projects are delivered defect-free, on time, and on budget. The primary focus of this role is to optimize day-to-day processes and remove roadblocks in support of company strategic objectives. 

       KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

        • Leadership & Management Accountability- 

          Will serve as a coach and mentor, demonstrating strong leadership qualities such as effective communication, strategic thinking, and the ability to inspire and motivate teams. The Process Operations Manager will ensure that internal processes are consistently followed and that individual and team priorities, goals, and development paths are aligned with company strategies.

        • Cross-Functional Collaboration

          Facilitating cross-functional communication and collaboration, the Process Operations Manager develops and implements process strategies that remove roadblocks and align internal processes with project needs and business priorities. The Process Operations Manager will ensure that production, procurement, facilities, and fleet resources are available as needed to support the effective execution of project tasks and achieve company strategic initiatives.

        • Continuous Improvement

          Evaluates and optimizes internal processes to enhance efficiency by identifying process bottlenecks, implement effective solutions, and drive continuous improvement by regularly assessing performance against key operational metrics. The Process Operations Manager will recommend and execute actions to align all process functions with the company’s strategic goals.

        • Production & Service Oversight

          Oversee the day-to-day activities of the production team, including drafting, assembly, panel check-out, testing, installation, and on-site service. The POM will attend team stand-ups and operational planning meetings, conduct daily check-ins, perform one-on-one coaching, and monitor actual performance against budget. The Process Operations Manager will guarantee that quality standards are met, and that production and service work is scheduled completed without defect, on time, and on budget.

        • Procurement Oversight

          The Internal Process Operations Manager will oversee day-to-day procurement activities, including quoting, ordering, shipping & receiving, parts allocation, inventory maintenance, warehousing, and documentation processes. The POM will have working knowledge of the ERP system and ability to backfill the procurement role as needed. The Process Operations Manager will ensure that procurement processes are consistently followed, and parts are available at the right time to meet production schedules. 
        • Safety Oversight - 

          The Internal Process Operations Manager will oversee company-wide safety compliance. This includes maintaining 3rd party safety sites to ensure compliance with customer safety requirements and sitting in a permanent advisory role on the Safety Committee. The POM will oversee the development of safety training programs and conduct regular safety audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards and ensure a safe working environment for all employees.

        •  Facilities, Fleet & Asset Management - 

          The Internal Process Operations Manager will ensure that facilities and fleet vehicles are available and maintained as appropriate to meet the needs of the business. This includes the acquisition, maintenance, and repair of all HEI facilities and vehicles. The POM will conduct regular inspections for safety and condition, handle emergency planning and response, and oversee and coordinate renovation projects. The POM will be responsible for the tracking of assets, conducting annual asset inventory, and recommending disposition.

      QUALIFICATIONS

      • EDUCATION
      • Bachelor’s degree with at least five years’ experience in operational management and a basic understanding of executing projects within a wide array of industries.

      • FINANCIAL ACUMEN 
      •  Strong understanding of financial principles and the ability to apply them effectively to business initiatives. KPI’s include Inventory Investment < 25% Variance MOM, Assembly Reject Rate at FAT, Hours vs Plan for Assembly & Drafting, and Operating Expense vs Plan
      • TECHINCAL SKILLS
      • Understands shop work, project coordination and delivery. Understands purchasing, procurement, contracts, vendors and deliveries. Understands customer needs for technical implementation of our applications.
      • COMMUNICATION & INFLUENCE
      • Follows HEI and customer communication standards. Uses excellent speaking and writing skills. Employs training and mentoring skills. Engaged with colleagues, clients and key stakeholders. Analyzes and displays data visually to make decisions. Logical reasoning and presentation.

      • Ability to plan for business and project needs by seeing and developing technical training opportunities that would benefit the company and team. Understands developing technical expertise in shop settings to deliver on project commitments.
