Technician

A Controls Technician would perform skilled installation, assembly, testing, repair and trouble shooting work involved with electrical control systems. Electrical work may be performed in a number of areas and on a variety equipment. Work involves technical application of electrical principles. The individual will work under the supervision of a licensed electrician and on a highly-skilled team of engineers and technicians. Regular business hours with occasional overtime work.  KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• • Assembly - Assembles panels and other devices following approved design. Produces lay-outs for panels and components, products, and systems for industrial purposes. Designs and assembles electrical equipment facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.
  • Testing and Verification - records electrical testing and initiates modification or replacement of equipment. Instrumentation work. Uses documentation to record testing. May do checkout using software applications.
  • Installation/ Onsite Activities - ensures products and systems conform to engineering design and customer specifications. diagnoses cause of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment and performs preventative and corrective measures.
  • Troubleshooting - diagnoses cause of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment and performs preventative and corrective maintenance while maintaining communication between customer and the rest of the HEI team.
  • Software/ Industry Application- applies skills to project work including but not limited to: Power distribution, instrumentation, Network systems, PLC/HMI programming and/or understanding of specific processes or industry. May use software to control processes.
  • Onsite support - builds relationships with customers based on rapid response and high-quality work Professional interaction with customers, contractors and other client facing team members
    
    

Requirements/Benefits

QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate degree in electrical, electro-mechanical, or automation or 3 year's electrical experience.
• ISA Certifications and software certifications are desirable. Apprentice Electrician card is a plus.
•  Experience with electrical installation and/or electrician work is desirable. Working effectively with a team, enjoy challenges, listen and follow instructions while thinking for himself or herself, appreciate quality workmanship and demonstrate the ability to finish tasks.
